Ravens DT Michael Pierce pulled from practice

Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Michael Pierce was delivered off the practice field on the first day of mandatory minicamp.
The 26-year-old lineman has been taken out of the area for lack of illness. Coach John Harbaugh talked with Pierce following the extending portion of clinic, and the defensive tackle left the area.

„He is not ready to clinic from a safety perspective and for his health,“ Harbaugh said, via ESPN. „We understand that and pulled off him.“
Pierce, a restricted free agent, did not attend previous voluntary offseason workouts. He is set to earn a non-guaranteed base salary of $3.095 million in 2019. He will be a free agent in 2020.
According to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley, the defensive tackle appeared thicker than his listed playing weight of 340 lbs.
„He’s not prepared for this practice yet,“ Harbaugh said. „I believe that you could tell.“
An undrafted free agent signing in 2016, Pierce impressed his first three seasons. As a rotational player, Pierce made the fifth-highest grade for an inner defender from Professional Football Focus and was the fourth-best against the run.
If he does not get on the practice field this week, then the next chance is through training camp in late July.
