Ryder Cup 2020: Robert Karlsson named as European vice-captain

European Ryder Cup captain Padraig Harrington has called Robert Karlsson because his first vice-captain for its 2020 contest.
Karlsson represented Europe in Ryder Cups as a player, featuring in the win in the K Club in 2006 before returning to play in the defeat at Valhalla 2 years later.
The Swede also worked together with Harrington as a portion of Thomas Bjorn’s backroom staff for its 2018 contest, where Europe ran out persuasive 16.5-11.5 winners in Le Golf National.
Karlsson registered three factors for Europe from his seven matches and was only beaten thrashing Justin Leonard in the singles in 2008 and forming an unbeaten venture with Paul Casey throughout the 2006 contest.
The 49-year-old brings plenty of expertise to the European group, also and having recorded 11 European Tour successes won the European Tour’s Order of Merit.
Qualification for Europe Ryder Cup team will get underway this week together with the year-long effort, at the BMW PGA Championship.
At which Europe will be bidding to keep the trophy and register only their fifth off victory in the competition the 2020 Ryder Cup takes place from September 25-27 2020 at Wisconsin.
