Fulham 1-1 West Brom: Semi Ajayi earns late point for Baggies

Semi Ajayi’s late header earned West Brom some time as they drew 1-1 against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The mistake of marcus Bettinelli allowed following Anthony Knockaert had put his side in front four minutes following the break Ajayi to go home after 80 minutes from the Sky Bet Championship clash on Saturday.
It supposed although they stay a little off the speed of the league leaders that the hens were shared between two of the promotion favourites.
Fulham also had a few chances to take the lead and dominated the first half. After 16 minutes it was Tom Cairney who discovered his own way through while later in the half Sam Johnstone was called on to deny Knockaert and Bobby Reid in rapid succession, but he rattled the bar with his campaign.
West Brom were pleased to sit but did occasionally carve out a chance. Charlie Austin particularly had two half chances to score, even the initial on 28 minutes he acrobatically smashed the seven minutes before the break, on the pub as he headed Matt Phillips‘ into Bettinelli’s arms.
It required a piece of magic soon after half-time to get Knockaert to break the deadlock. Whether he intended it or not is another thing entirely, however, the winger was able to obtain the top corner with a dinked attempt from the edge of the box which left no opportunity to Johnstone.
Bettinelli, who was in excellent form all day before he gifted them their equaliser with 10 minutes to proceed wasn’t actually threatened by west Brom. His poor effort to receive a corner apparent watched him hand the ball directly.
Reed is onto his third loan stint in the Sky Bet Championship, having spent preceding campaigns at Norwich and Blackburn, and seems to be becoming an excellent midfielder at the level. He aided restrain the game for big swathes of the action at Craven Cottage with his passing. He is maintaining Kevin McDonald and stalwarts Stefan Johansen about the bench, as it stands.
Fulham head to Sheffield Wednesday at 3pm Saturday. West Brom are in action at home to Huddersfield on Sunday 22 at 12pm, live on Sky Sports Football.
