In his BBC Sport column, Wales center Hadleigh Parkes goes ahead to Sundays World Cup quarter-final from France and reveals his team-mates have taken to the naked sexy springs of Japan.
Sometimes I have to pinch myself that I am playing in a World Cup quarter-final, also this Sundays game against France is up there with the biggest games of my profession.
We all know we will be planning having a chance to Yokohama if we triumph in Oita.
We all understand whats at stake. We continue to Yokohama for last and the semi-finals and either beat a challenging side – or we are going to be flying back into Wales on Monday.
You only need to keep winning and winning and there is a large carrot in the end of it all. It is so exciting.
Its great to be here in the last eight and we are really hoping we can be there in the last four.
As have my brother Greg and his wife Hayley my parents, Bill and Janet, have begun to watch.
Its mums birthday on Friday and when all goes against France, I will have my 2 brothers coming out a week, and its going to be my parents 40th wedding anniversary next weekend. So thats more incentive to play!
It was nothing severe, although I took a tiny hit in the win over Uruguay, the shoulders good and everything appears to be okay.
Sometimes with injuries you wont catch any for ages and other times you receive a couple of different niggles simultaneously – such as Ive had in the World Cup with the cracked bone in my hands and the shoulder – and its only about trying to handle them.
My bodys feeling good and its just a case of earning sure I do everything to maintain the best possible shape for this game.
After I had all of the strapping on various elements of the human body, I mentioned that I was becoming called Robocop.
That started with one remark from Ross Moriarty but, now I have mentioned it I have been becoming despair from the lads.
Every now and then the lads will earn a remark concerning my columns, but Im just glad they are reading them. It all adds to the numbers!
There not occurring in Oita than other, larger cities such as Osaka, Tokyo and Kyoto. It is more of a beachy type location with holidaymakers here the hot springs, for its onsens.
The onsens appear to be the significant appeal in Oita and neighboring Beppu, in which we stayed for the Fiji match.
The difference between the ones and these springs that you may see elsewhere in the world is that convention dictates which, in the majority of onsens, youve got to be naked.
The boys started off in the onsens with their shorts , they then got down to their own smugglers and everyones in the naked.
The boys are embracing it. It is something youre not utilized to and a bit different, but its the culture out there. It is the way it is done.
A few onsens are a bit nicer than other people and there are a couple of boys who are actually enjoying them.
This is a Wonderful area and weve had a few wins contrary to Uruguay at Kumamoto, against Fiji in Oita and around here.
Now were back in Oita, itd be amazing if we can get a triumph in this town in Sundays big match against the French.
We know how difficult it is going to be against them theyve got a lot of talent, some big boys and some fantastic individuals.
As a squad, you dont wish to be chomping at the bit too early. You may end up overhyped, then all of a sudden youre coming down and then you want to get yourself.
So it is about building well, training nicely, ticking the boxes which you generally tick off, a couple meetings, a couple of walk-throughs and the boys will talk to each other to undergo what we need out of the training sessions and also to take in the game.
The beginning of the week is getting prepared and the end of the week is about finalising, making sure everythings set up.
It is wonderful to unwind before the match. The boys see both Saturday quarter-finals in our resort and will likely go to get a coffee.
You dont wish to play the game once you awaken on the dawn of the game, thats when you start to build and get excited.
I do have a set routine on match days. I will end up, have breakfast and then its only a matter of relaxing throughout the morning over a coffee with all the boys, and also the family if they are around.
Then weve got the dinner, that is fairly similar most weeks, then Ill have a shower, get wrapped up in the team hotel and then we are on the bus.
It is a fair distance to the scene from our resort seeing as it is a ride , when you are on the bus, you dont need to get overly hyped.
You are relaxed at the point. Driving up to the scenes pretty exciting and then you get with all the warm-up correctly into it.
Then its the game. Its always great to pull on that jersey, and also to perform it will be extra special.
