Ian Bell joins England U19s as batting coach for tri-series in Caribbean

Warwickshires Ian Bell will behave as batting trainer on the forthcoming tour of the Caribbean of England U19.
Bell, who played 118 Tests for England, and fielding coach Nic Pothas will operate a against West Indies U19 and Sri Lanka U19.
The series is the aggressive test for the young players ahead of the ICC U19 World Cup, which takes place at South Africa in January and February 2020.
Many of the 16 players featured in this summers Tri-series from India and Bangladesh, including captain George Balderson and vice-captain George Hill.
Sam Young and scott Currie come into the squad having shown their potential that summer in second-team cricket for Somerset and Hampshire respectively, also collectively for Dorset in the National Counties competition.
Wicketkeeper Harry Duke, in Yorkshire, is new to the squad and was chosen off the trunk of impressive performances using all the gloves in the ECB Young Lions Super 4 Contest, as well as for Second XI and also the Yorkshire Academy.
Announcing the squad, Lewis explained:Together with the World Cup on the horizon, this is our final chance to assess our squad and decide that 15 gamers to take with us to South Africa.
We have also taken this opportunity to look at several players that are relatively untested at this level and also have the opportunity to push their way into our own World Cup squad.
Almost half the team managed to procure county first-team appearances this summer. Ben Charlesworth (Gloucestershire), Jack Haynes (Worcestershire), Jordan Cox (Kent), Dan Mousley (Warwickshire), Hamidullah Qadri (Derbyshire), Joey Evison (Nottinghamshire) and Tom Clark (Sussex) all had fantastic growth experiences at the next level.
Reflecting on the appointments of Bell and past Hampshire wicketkeeper Pothas, Lewis added:Im delighted to welcome Ian along with Nic into the team for both tours that winter. After a detailed and open recruitment process we decided that both coaches were just the programme at the stage in time and the perfect match for the team.
The experience they have can only add value to this programme over the brief time period we have with the players.
Ian is one of the generations highest run-scorers, whose experience and knowledge of playing under pressure at the highest levels, for example multiple World Cups is a fantastic resource for those players to tap into and also something that is not always available to them at county level.
Nic has excellent expertise in international coaching with West Indies and Sri Lanka and it is a native of Highveld in South Africa, making him an ideal candidate to fill gaps in our understanding of our competitors as well as the terms we will play in.
Alongside that hes a fantastic fielding and wicketkeeping trainer and that I expect him to create an impact on the skill execution within the field, a field I am really eager to enhance with this set of gamers. As we found during the last moments of the summers World Cup, it is a place that may make the difference between losing and winning trophies.
