Three UTEP Miners basketball players have been suspended following allegations of illegal sports wagering

If you’re an university sports fan, you probably do not think much about the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) as it pertains to teams. Sure, you’ve probably heard about UTEP, but you’re not too concerned when your chosen team suits up to play them, and you won’t be selecting them to win a nationwide championship in basketball or football anytime soon. And when their basketball team is in the headlines, you know it’s most likely not for anything they will have done on the court.

Three Players Accused of Betting on Games

And that is precisely true for the headlines taken from UTEP this week. Three players were kicked off of the UTEP men’s basketball team after allegations were made against them associated with gambling on sports. Those allegations finally caused the college to report the gambling to the local FBI industry office, and then take away the players from their team.
